THE INVESTIGATOR

an unusual light has been reported
the investigator is checking it out
ascending stairs slowly
carefully no doubt
stepping at the edge of each stair
to avoid sounds which could alert
another intruder 
another air
another investigator

there is no flashlight
relying on other senses
to betray
moving in a fluid way
stealing upwards

in the density of thick darkness
it may have been seen
but it was described as blinding
not that dim warm glow in the corner
of an endless room

moving on
searching in the rhythm dens
rattling bones and skull-dice
looking for signs
sound cues
inclinations

anything
to solve the mystery

so soon it comes
soon as almost
soon as if
soon as a kiss
soon as bliss
